We will only manage to protect nature through ever more advanced understanding of its phenomena. The exploration objective is therefore crucial for the Klorane Botanical Foundation, as it strives to enrich our human understanding and knowledge of plant biodiversity. The foundation supports players who are committed to the world of botany (researchers, professors, students, organisations), by funding field projects in France and further afield: exploration of primary tropical forests, investigation of threatened plant zones, creation of therapeutic gardens, etc. The Klorane Botanical Foundation also contributes to the restoration and valorisation of herbariums, as well as the realisation of university theses. It produces scientific information tools to be used by healthcare professionals, such as the botanical monographs, which gradually build up a prime collection.
The Klorane Botanical Foundation surrounds itself with its partners in botany:
- Gardens and conservatoires which are heavily involved in safeguarding biodiversity;
- The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the leading and biggest global organisation for the protection of the environment;
- The Tela Botanica organisation, an active and global network of French-speaking botanists.
